Bungee is an adventure activity that involves jumping from tall structure while connected to a large elastic cord. Bungee provides you the buzz of adrenaline in the air.
This is the first bungee jumping site in Nepal and is situated 160m over the wild Bhote Koshi River. Bhote Koshi river is a steep river with constant rapids and is famous for rafting. It is located close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one of New Zealand’s leading bungee consultants, and is operated by some of the most experienced jumpmasters in the business. It’s mishap-proof. The agency takes safety very seriously.
It is a 3 hour drive outside of Kathmandu Valley through the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa) Highway. The bungee is situated within 12 km from famous Friendship Bridge in the Nepal-China Border. The gorge has a 166 m wide suspension bridge. The suspension bridge for the bungee has been specially designed for bungee jumping with a 4x-safety factor and has a loading factor of 41,500 kg or 4.5 tons according to Swiss measurements.
It is advised to empty the pockets and not take any intoxicants before the jump. Everyone is weighed before the fall is made, to use different cords for different categories of weights. The Green, Red and Black cords are used for the lightest, the heavier and the heavyweights accordingly.
The Bhote Koshi bungee also has the feature of swing. The canyon swing at the Bhote Koshi is the world’s highest giant swing that offers an adrenaline filled, gravity defying adventure.
